Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Web Engineer with a focus on Accessibility to join our dynamic team at Cpl Life Sciences. This role is essential in ensuring that our digital products and campaigns adhere to the highest standards of accessibility, performance, and reliability.

Contract Duration: 5 months

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Compensation: Up to £210 per day

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Proficiency with accessibility testing tools such as BrowserStack, Axe, and Lighthouse
  • Experience utilizing assistive technologies like VoiceOver

As a Web Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our team of Design Technologists and Software Developers. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance and develop accessible web experiences, ensuring that our digital offerings are inclusive and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remediate and create accessible web solutions
  • Foster innovation and optimize development processes for accessibility
  • Enhance our library of reusable components and design systems
  • Leverage both open-source and proprietary software to boost team efficiency and output quality

Technologies and Tools Utilized:

  • HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • ReactJS
  • Animation libraries
  • Deployment pipelines
  • Manual and automated accessibility testing tools

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional front-end, web, or mobile software development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

  • Familiarity with assistive technologies like VoiceOver
  • Experience in agile development methodologies and best coding practices, including peer code reviews, unit testing, and continuous deployment
  • Proven ability to build scalable and distributed front-end solutions
  • Proficiency in common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Experience with JavaScript libraries, particularly React
