Shift Pattern: Hours per day
The Role
Job Objective:
This pivotal role involves executing both scheduled and urgent maintenance across various site locations.
You will serve as the primary contact for all service and maintenance activities within your designated sites.
Your responsibilities will include effectively servicing and repairing refrigeration systems at client locations, as well as providing support for HVAC systems that incorporate refrigeration circuits.
Our engineering teams are committed to delivering 24-hour service coverage throughout the year, utilizing planned and extended working hours, including participation in standby rota procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to meet agreed timelines and response expectations.
- Quickly identify non-repairable issues and inform the Line Manager with recommendations for suitable replacements.
- Ensure completion of PPM schedules within the designated timeframes, maintaining accurate and compliant documentation.
- Keep all technical and compliance records current and complete.
- Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, coordinating any necessary cover for absences with the Line Manager.
- Stay informed about regulations and codes of practice relevant to your tasks.
- Order and install parts or components as per company protocols.
- Notify the company helpdesk of task conditions upon completion of work.
- Communicate any repair, maintenance, or installation concerns to the GSMs to ensure smooth operations and foster collaborative relationships.
- Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing job requirements and executing repairs as needed.
- Conduct surveys and compile reports as directed by the refrigeration supervisor/RFM.
- Complete all tasks to the highest standards, ensuring efficiency and compliance with the company's Health and Safety policies.
- Fulfill all assigned duties within the allocated timeframe to meet company and client satisfaction.
- Exhibit proficiency in both written and verbal communication, report writing, and documentation processes.
- Attend training sessions as required to keep personal skills aligned with technical and business advancements.
- Complete all mandatory online training modules.
- Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company's Health and Safety Policy consistently.
- Collaborate with company and ASDA colleagues to maintain established quality standards.
- Represent the company professionally and cultivate positive working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
- Comply with any reasonable requests or instructions from the City Management Team.
Financial Accountability:
- Execute work in a cost-effective manner.
- No budgetary responsibilities.
People Accountability:
- Maintain a professional demeanor and develop strong working relationships with Supervisors, Operations Managers, and Department Heads.
- Collaborate with fellow Engineers within the region/cell.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Relevant qualifications in Maths & English
- Completion of a Time-Served Apprenticeship
- NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Qualification
- Participation in an Approved Training Program
- Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certification
- Possession of a Skill Card
- Expertise in Refrigeration, Electrical, Air Conditioning, and Mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and applicable Codes of Practice
- Proficient diagnostic and repair skills for equipment
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Customer-focused mindset
- Self-motivated and professional demeanor
- Capability to work at heights and operate Access Equipment competently
- Valid Full Driving License is essential
- Availability for Out of Hours Working and participation in Standby Rota
- Possession of a suitable personal tool kit
