Job Title: Commercial Manager

Shorterm Group is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team in Birmingham. As a Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and assisting the Commercial Department and project team to maximize profit and reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 3 QS's, with the potential for more in the future
  • Actively manage commercial issues and deal with clients
  • Interact regularly with the client, Commercial Director, Project Managers, QS team, internal QS team, subcontractors, and procurement
Requirements:
  • Utilities experience is essential, with T&D experience being ideal
  • Working with National Grid is ideal, with UKPN, SPEN, SSE, or WPD being ideal
  • Must have experience as a Commercial Manager running at least 2 QS's for a significant time
  • NEC form of contract is required, with FIDIC being an advantage
  • Must be able to use Excel as a super user and have experience with Oracle
  • JV experience is essential, with a strong attitude and mentality
  • Must have knowledge of the whole lifecycle of a large construction project
Essential Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Degree is essential, with RICS or The Civil Engineering Surveyors member being ideal
  • Full UK driving license is required

You will be working in the office 3 times a week, with Monday and Friday being flexible. This role would suit a Senior Project Manager, Bid Manager, Tendering Manager, Proposals Manager, Managing Quantity Surveyor, Finance Manager, or other similar roles.
