Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Substation Maintenance Technician at our operational facilities.

In this role, you will support skilled tradespeople with various site activities related to the upkeep, repair, and installation of electrical equipment and switchgear up to 66kV. Additionally, you will conduct inspections of substations. While prior electrical experience is beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess GCSEs in English and Mathematics (grades 1-9/G-A*) or an equivalent qualification recognized at the same level, such as Functional Skills. Proof of qualifications will be required prior to employment.

Main Responsibilities

The role involves working away from the main office, typically in pairs. The nature of the work demands quick, responsible decision-making and adaptability to meet team objectives. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a physically demanding outdoor setting.

Ideal Candidate

Mobility across the service area is essential, as you may be required to participate in on-call duties outside of regular hours. A valid driving license is necessary.

Please be aware that roles involving work at heights and the use of Personal Fall Protection Equipment have specific weight restrictions for safety reasons.
