Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our Integrated Medicines Management team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing patient-focused services, including the assessment of patients' own drugs, determining and maintaining supplies of medicines, and counselling patients on their medications to deliver medicines optimisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision and development of pharmacy services to the Trust, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Provide cover in the dispensary/manufacturing unit to ensure all dispensary/production targets are met, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Undertake Integrated Medicines Management Training to enhance your skills and knowledge in this area.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills and qualifications:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • NVQ Pharmacy level 3 with BTEC or equivalent underpinning knowledge
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable skills and qualifications include:

  • Experience in dealing with patients and counselling
  • Accuracy checking skills
  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
