About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential Deputy Manager to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our residential care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide vision and leadership to staff within the residential care team, ensuring effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management.
  • Quality Assurance: Set, monitor, and evaluate standards at individual, team, and service quality levels.
  • Communication: Establish and manage team communications systems, ensuring that company procedures, policies, strategies, and objectives are effectively communicated to all team members.
  • Professional Practice: Ensure that professional practice in the team is carried out to the highest standards and developed in line with company objectives of continual improvement in quality of service to young people in our care and external professionals.
  • General Management: Provide overall management of the residential care team, ensuring that effective systems are in place for workload allocation and management, the application of company policies and procedures, including those relating to equality, supervision, and appraisal, and all aspects of staff performance, personal development, health, and welfare.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience: Have experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and listening skills, ability to work well as part of a small team, and willingness to learn.
  • DBS Check: Willingness to undertake a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position.
