Job Title: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 student with special educational needs in a Primary School in Hammersmith & Fulham.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in SEN support or experience working with early learners who require extra assistance.

As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping this young child develop key skills, particularly around language and communication.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing tailored, one-on-one support to a KS1 student in the early stages of language development.
  • Working with a child who is highly self-directed, adapting to their individual learning needs and promoting engagement.
  • Supporting their educational and social development through carefully planned interventions and activities.
  • Collaborating closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Helping the child develop confidence, independence, and key life skills, ensuring they have a positive school experience.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a 1:1 setting.
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children who are working below ARE.
  • A passion for helping students with language development, using creative and effective strategies to support communication.
  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with the child, parents, and staff.
