Clinical Research Nurse/AHP Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Nurse/AHP to join our Core Research and Development Team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality research projects and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong interest in developing specific skills to be a research nurse. You will be self-motivated and driven to work alongside clinical and administrative staff to ensure patients receive a service of the highest quality.

Main Duties of the Job

The Clinical Research Nurse/AHP will be responsible for identifying clinical trials appropriate for our clinical services, facilitating these trials, and ensuring the ongoing management and care of patients and participants.

The post holder will work closely with the Research team, clinical departments, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of research projects.

The role includes working autonomously in a variety of settings, with the ability to prioritize tasks and workload, demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, and meet deadlines.

Person Specification

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration or Allied Health Professional with HCPC Registration
  • Description of post-registration education and training
  • Describe qualifications relevant to healthcare research and/or leadership and management

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrate project management within a healthcare setting or equivalent
  • Explain your understanding of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust
  • Describe knowledge of the Health Service, R&D, the pharmaceutical industry partnership, and relevant information sciences
  • Share knowledge of the principles and practice of clinical research and/or clinical trials

Abilities and Skills

  • Demonstration of prioritizing tasks and workload
  • Evidence of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Experience of working without direct supervision
  • Able to work autonomously and lead others, aware of own limitations and seeks out appropriate advice and support
