Opus People Solutions is working with North Northamptonshire Council to recruit for a Communications and Marketing Specialist.
About the RoleThis is a temporary role that will last for 3 months, working 37 hours a week. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and providing external and internal communications services, including corporate communications, marketing, publications, advertising, and promotional campaigns.
Key Responsibilities- Provide corporate advice and implementation for senior managers, service areas, and elected members on three or more specialist areas of communications, including advertising, campaigns, and evaluation, service marketing management, copywriting, digital design, and internal communications.
- Take a lead in specialist knowledge areas, operating across services with minimal supervision and management.
- Challenge existing approaches to marketing and communications activities and develop inventive and cost-effective strategies, ideas, and actions for campaigns and one-off communications projects.
- Persuade stakeholders of the validity and cost-effectiveness of recommendations and manage them into projects within specified timescales and budgets.
- Assist in creating and maintaining effective systems for improved internal communications throughout the Council.
The ideal candidate will have a suitable level of experience in a relevant communications role, demonstrable knowledge and understanding of communications and marketing principles, and previous experience of writing communication plans and strategies.
They will also have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate well with clients from all levels, and interact competently with staff, members, the public, the media, and external agencies.
The candidate will be able to stay calm in difficult situations, work accurately to tight deadlines, and self-motivate and organize their own workload with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Proficiency in IT packages, including Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe design packages, is also required.
