Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Pediatric Rainbow Centre is a bustling unit dedicated to serving a diverse and vulnerable pediatric population. The facility includes a 21-bed pediatric ward featuring 7 cubicles, a well-equipped HDU unit with 2 beds, and a 6-bed day care ward for minor surgeries for children over 3 years. Additionally, the department houses a 6-bed observational unit and provides 23 beds, including 2 for intensive care and 4 for HDU.

The Level II Neonatal unit caters to infants born at more than 27 weeks gestation. We collaborate closely with the tertiary unit at the Royal London Hospital. Candidates must demonstrate the capability to manage their responsibilities effectively while thriving under pressure. This position is based at Barts Health NHS Trust, which offers acute general pediatric and neonatal services to one of the UK's most vibrant and rapidly growing populations.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The department operates separate neonatal and pediatric rotas, each consisting of a consultant, middle-grade, and SHO doctors.

The Trust employs over 9,500 multidisciplinary staff across multiple hospital sites, making it one of the largest Trusts in the UK. Acute general hospital services are provided for the local population in North East London.
