Engineering Insurance Underwriter Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Engineering Insurance Underwriter. This role will involve recommending and developing the underwriting strategy for our Engineering Insurance offering, establishing appropriate rules, terms, and risk features that will enable the delivery of profit and growth objectives while effectively managing insurance risk in line with the overall underwriting strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including agents and underwriters
  • Review and provide expert judgment on risk rates to ensure rates and rating logic are informed with deep insurance and market knowledge
  • Collaborate with the Propositions department to set growth targets and define risk appetite
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in underwriting or broking, preferably in the engineering breakdown insurance sector
  • Strong knowledge of the engineering insurance market and excellent understanding of the factors that influence its performance
  • High level of data literacy and ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex ideas to stakeholders
