Research Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our research function at Tommy's, a leading UK charity dedicated to researching the causes and prevention of pregnancy complications, miscarriage, stillbirth, and premature birth.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in research funding, governance, and public and patient involvement, with excellent communication and leadership skills. They will be responsible for ensuring that our £2 million annual research spend funds the best work, leading funding, governance, public and patient involvement, and working closely with the Director for Research, Programmes and Impact to support strategic delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the research landscape, the processes required for research funding and governance, and the role of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) in supporting this. They will be a strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally, and work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
We offer a competitive salary of £49,000-53,000, 25 days of annual leave, and a hybrid working arrangement.
