About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Art Installation Technician to join our team at Halcyon Gallery in Central London. As an Art Installation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and handling of artwork in our galleries, ensuring that each piece is displayed to its full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hanging and Installation: Hang artwork using a variety of installation methods on various wall compositions, ensuring that each piece is securely and safely displayed.
  • Artwork Handling: Handle all artwork and installations carefully and with due consideration, taking into account the fragility and value of each piece.
  • Packing and Shipping: Pack and unpack artwork for onward shipping, including crates, to ensure that each piece arrives at its destination safely and securely.
  • Stock Management: Manage the inventory of artwork in our galleries, ensuring that each piece is accurately recorded and accounted for.
  • Administration: Administer artwork using our database, logging and reporting any damaged pieces whether damaged in the gallery or before arrival.
  • Delivery and Installation: Deliver art to customer sites, ensuring that each piece is installed and displayed to the highest standard.
  • Gallery Maintenance: Maintain the appearance and daily upkeep of our galleries, including re-hanging artwork as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience: It is essential that you have handled, hung, and installed artwork previously, with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Qualifications: Ideally, you will have achieved an A-level standard of education at a minimum.
  • Additional Requirements: You must be qualified to work within the UK and must be able to travel internationally to carry out installations. A driving license is extremely beneficial but not essential.
