Civil Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team at Aldwych Consulting Ltd. in Gloucester.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop drainage, service, road infrastructure, and earthworks for various projects, including industrial, commercial, residential, retail, health, and leisure developments.
  • Prepare associated drawings from concept stage to construction, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, and Service Strategy Reports, as well as design Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems from concept to implementation.
  • Design and detail works associated with highway agreements (s.278, s.38, etc.) and drainage agreements (s.104, s.185, etc.), negotiating technical approvals with relevant authorities.
  • Perform site audits and feasibility assessments, growing civil engineering expertise while maintaining and developing client relationships.
  • Lead and support team members in undertaking technical work and report writing.
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree and at least one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience writing reports, such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Statements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroDrainage software.
  • Knowledge of national guidance, including Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
