Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Process and Projects Engineer to join our team at Unilever. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of engineering projects within our Sourcing Units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement project plans, including design, installation, and commissioning of process plant and equipment.
    • Manage project schedules, cost schedules, and project documentation.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Conduct technical surveys and feasibility studies to inform project decisions.
    • Design and install plant equipment, including tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, pipework, valves, and manifolds.
    • Manage contractors safely during installation.
  • Project Management
    • Manage project risks and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
    • Provide stakeholder updates and communicate project progress.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Chemical engineering background or relevant experience in process projects.
    • Project management qualification or relevant experience.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Hygienic plant and process design.
    • Managed the design and installation of plant equipment.
    • Ability to understand process P&ID's and plant flow layouts.
    • Experience of Microsoft Office required (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).

Working Environment

Our team is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, with easy access by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying between £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
