Pipework Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pipework Design Engineer to join our technical services team at Morson Talent. As a Pipework Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and manufacturing technology for the nuclear sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop plant layout plans in collaboration with process engineers and customers.
  • Design concept plans for process pipework, including physical arrangements, routing optimization, and pipework support structures.
  • Create models and drawings using E3D (AVEVA).
  • Develop detailed designs and sequencing for in-house manufacturing.
  • Participate in steel construction planning and coordination of steel construction and earthquake calculations.
  • Present designs to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Attend single and multi-discipline Design Reviews.
  • Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of all company pipework designs.
  • Provide pipework engineering support to the manufacturing department during production of pipework systems.
  • Support installation and testing of pipework systems at customer sites.
Requirements
  • Completed studies in mechanical engineering or a related subject.
  • Several years of experience in constructing piping for process/chemical plants.
  • Knowledge of EU and US standards (EN; ASME).
  • Experience in using E3D or PDMS.
  • A structured, precise, efficient, and result-oriented way of working.
  • A high degree of customer orientation, motivation, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Experienced use of MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of German language would be advantageous.
  • Flexible approach and willingness to undertake UK and Overseas travel.
  • Minimum Security Clearance (SC).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of computer literacy.
  • An ability to speak French or German in addition to English would be an advantage.
