Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-centered Lead Radiotherapy Specialist to join our collaborative team at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

As a senior member of our radiography team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the treatment process and overseeing the pre-treatment area.

Location

Our facility is situated in a newly constructed, state-of-the-art building, offering stunning views and a tranquil environment. The Trust is conveniently located with excellent transport links to surrounding areas.

Team Dynamics

Our team consists of approximately 35 skilled radiographers, equipped with advanced technology including Elekta Linear Accelerators and a wide bore CT scanner. We utilize a paperless system, ensuring efficient patient management and treatment planning.

We are committed to providing a supportive atmosphere for our patients, featuring specialized clinics and resources such as a Macmillan Information Pod.

Key Responsibilities

As an experienced practitioner, you will rotate through the Radiotherapy Department, delivering clinical technical services with a variety of specialized equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the management of caseloads, staff, and equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and delivering evidence-based, patient-focused care.
  • Supervising and training student radiographers, ensuring high standards of practice.

Clinical Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Interpret and apply complex Radiotherapy treatment prescriptions.
  • Ensure the safe and accurate use of specialized Radiotherapy equipment.
  • Conduct verification processes to maintain treatment accuracy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.

Patient Care

You will provide comprehensive information to patients and their families regarding treatment processes and potential side effects, ensuring understanding and compliance.
