About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Hepatobiliary CNS Service team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with the wider multidisciplinary team, patients, and relatives/carers, in relation to delivering results and outcomes.
  • Exercise clinical judgement and decision-making skills to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct clinical triage of 2-week wait referrals, utilize the Single Technology Pathway (STP) model where appropriate, and assess patients via telephone or face-to-face clinics.
  • Work closely with the cancer pathway tracking teams to maintain efficient timelines on patient tracking lists (PTLs) for patients with suspected upper gastrointestinal cancer and benign endoscopy and diagnostic pathways.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver sensitive diagnoses and provide patient-centered care.
Requirements
  • Experience of working autonomously at an advanced level in specialty areas.
  • Evidence of management and leadership experience.
  • Evidence of student supervision and clinical education.
  • Advanced clinical, managerial, and leadership skills in specialty.
  • Proven listening and counseling skills with the ability to manage complex situations and deliver sensitive and difficult outcomes.
  • Ability to clinically lead and influence staff.
  • Able to use skills of history taking and physical assessment to direct patient care.
