Drainage Operations Lead

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Drainage Operations Lead to join our expanding team on a full-time basis.

Position Overview
  • Job Title: Drainage Operations Lead
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
  • Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Commission
  • OTE: £65,000+
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to a team of drainage engineers.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions effectively.
  • Lead the recruitment process for new drainage engineers, ensuring we attract top talent.
  • Develop and present comprehensive technical and large-scale quotations to clients.
  • Offer expert support to engineers on complex projects, occasionally outside of standard working hours.
  • Conduct site audits to guarantee quality standards and compliance with regulations.
  • Visit sites as needed to provide on-site assessments and guidance.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to resolve technical queries efficiently.
  • Ensure assigned work is completed on time and within budget, coordinating engineers and ordering necessary parts.
  • Conduct site visits to provide detailed quotations to potential clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota (additional compensation provided).
Competencies
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of plumbing, excavations, drain laying, drain lining, patching, CCTV surveys, and high-pressure water jetting techniques.
  • Ability to train and mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the industry.
Essential Requirements
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Demonstrated experience in management within the drainage sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with individuals at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and organized, able to manage workload effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Strong references from previous employers.
