Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at Praxis Real Estate Management. As a key member of our commercial property management team, you will be responsible for managing large-scale refurbishment projects and providing strategic advice to our Asset Management team.

About the Role:

  • Manage the delivery of refurbishment and development projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct pre-acquisition due diligence, reviewing building and M&E surveys to inform business decisions.
  • Advise on refurbishment costs for business plans and manage projects to ensure they are completed efficiently.
  • Appoint and manage consultants, inspect properties, and negotiate settlements for dilapidations claims.
  • Provide expert advice on building-related matters such as tenant alterations and repairs.
  • Oversee planning processes, collaborate with external consultants, and liaise with authorities to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Lead professional project teams and implement statutory procedures like Stopping Up processes.
  • Prepare design and contract documentation, manage tendering, contract administration, and financial control through to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Coordinate with our internal project management team for effective scheme handover and management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in building surveying within commercial property management.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Assertive leadership with the ability to guide external consultants and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach to delivering challenging projects.
  • MRICS qualification or equivalent in building or project management.
  • Either 3-5+ years PQE or we will also look at 8-10+ years PQE for a more Senior role.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A commitment to health and safety, financial compliance, and commercial awareness.
