Job Title: Academic Mentor

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide guidance and coaching to students on a wide range of academic and pastoral topics. This will include running 1:1 and small group interventions for children who are struggling in core subjects, with the aim of raising attainment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to students in a tutoring capacity
  • Run 1:1 and small group interventions to help students improve their understanding of core subjects
  • Work with students to set and achieve academic goals
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students' learning
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support

Requirements:

  • Recent graduates or individuals with a degree in English, Maths or Science
  • Experience working with children in a tutoring capacity (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people
