About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at HMP Stocken, a category C men's prison located in Stretton, Rutland.

In this role, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality mental health services to patients. You will be responsible for undertaking assessments, managing caseloads, and providing advice on treatment options.

The Mental Health Service operates Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, and this is a full-time position with an annual salary up to £46,200, depending on experience.

We offer a comprehensive induction program, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course, as well as a competency framework, regional and national career development opportunities, and a bespoke Learning Management System to support your professional development.

Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK and will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake assessments and manage caseloads for patients referred to Mental Health services
  • Provide advice on treatment options and initiate supportive care plans
  • Work with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis, alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team

Qualifications and Experience

  • RMN, Social Worker (Mental Health), or Occupational Therapist (Mental Health) qualification
  • Current professional qualification (NMC, HCPC, or equivalent)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP, and national standards
