Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Sanitation Services Team, playing a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience by upholding exceptional cleanliness standards.

This role involves working alternate weekends, with specific shift patterns to be discussed during the interview process.

A 34-hour night shift is available in the A&E department.

Flexible start and finish times are offered.

Comprehensive training will be provided to all new team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to maintain high cleanliness standards throughout the facility, including performing deep cleans in various hospital areas as needed.
  • Utilize cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Dispose of clinical waste appropriately and in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensure the safety of staff and visitors by using appropriate warning signage during cleaning activities.

Our team of Sanitation Specialists consists of Trust staff dedicated to ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. We work closely with Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) teams, as well as various wards and departments, to maintain our high standards of cleanliness. Our large team operates across diverse shift patterns, all striving to deliver the best possible service.

We take pride in fostering a supportive environment for each other and collaborating with other teams within the Trust.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Preferred

  • NVQ in Housekeeping or Industrial Cleaning

Experience

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare environment
  • Understanding of infection prevention and control measures
  • Familiarity with cleaning products and COSHH regulations

Skills

Essential

  • Proficient literacy skills to interpret instructions, guidelines, and policies
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff, patients, and the public
