The club has recently undertaken significant enhancements to its governance and operational framework, along with substantial investments in course upgrades and management equipment, all aimed at catering to the evolving needs of modern golfers and the latest advancements in golf technology.
Established in 1899, Timberlake Golf is a distinguished parkland course that offers a stunning, challenging, and year-round playable experience. We take great pride in our course, which stands as a true test of golfing skill and is recognized as one of the premier Private Members Golf Clubs.
Key Responsibilities:
The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of the club, ensuring financial success and member satisfaction. This multifaceted role includes a crucial partnership with the Board to execute the club's Vision, five-year strategy, and key initiatives. You will foster a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere for all members, guests, and staff.
The position demands a sophisticated blend of leadership capabilities: a professional, diplomatic, and results-oriented approach, with a focus on developing and guiding a team of approximately 45 employees while collaborating closely with various member volunteers, including Board members. The teams under the GM's purview encompass Course Management, Golf Operations, Club Professional, Food & Beverage, Administration, and Finance (the latter being largely outsourced).
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dynamic hospitality environment or Members Club as a General Manager or Deputy General Manager.
- Exceptional customer service mindset and skills.
- Strong leadership qualities: negotiator, diplomat, influencer, organized, adaptable, and results-driven.
- High emotional intelligence to navigate the complexities of member interactions.
- Innovative thinker with experience in relevant areas such as member clubs, F&B operations, and golf businesses.
- Proficient in utilizing data to inform decision-making, including financial, membership, and F&B statistics.
- Able to cultivate relationships within a diverse team, engaging with staff at all levels while also operating effectively at the Board level.
- Willingness to be present at the golf club to ensure vital face-to-face interactions with members and staff.
Compensation:
