About the Role

GKN Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Technician to join our team. As a Cyber Security Technician, you will be responsible for responding to security threats, attacks, and investigations. You will operate security tools and collaborate with the Security Operations Centre (SOC) service providers to manage incidents.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization. You will also have experience working in a virtual, multicultural, global environment and be knowledgeable in Security Information and Event Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist IT/OT teams in actively monitoring for threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Support the maintenance of global cyber controls, operations, and services.
  • Escalate, respond, resolve, and report cyber security incidents and corrective actions.
  • Ensure high-availability service levels, technical controls, analytics, and operations support objectives on cyber security tools.
  • Work as an effective member of a multi-locational team.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity control processes, standards, and architectures.
  • Assess IT/OT environments, including systems, networks, databases, and applications.
  • Support maintenance, support, administration, break/fix remediation, availability/capacity reporting, and health/performance monitoring.
  • Engage in the Change management process with knowledge in the assessment of changes, operational readiness, and lifecycle management and performance delivery for cyber security solutions.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' operating high availability & high performance infrastructure environment in a global manufacturing organisation at security administrator, systems administrator, or network administrator role.
  • Experience working in a virtual, multicultural, global environment.
  • Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
  • Knowledgeable in Security Information and Event Management.
  • Knowledge of system architectures.
