About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Telecoms and Operational Technology (OT) Support Engineer to join our team at Shell. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our offshore facilities, delivering energy to the UK while maintaining business-critical telecoms infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of SUKEP telecoms and OT systems, as well as interfaces with the business to implement system changes, deploy projects, and increase awareness of telecoms and PCD Integrity requirements and processes.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers to handle technical activities and assurance, using defined procedures and practices within well-defined areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with site staff, projects, and vendors to execute standard maintenance Field Telecoms and PCD-I routines and project activity, while keeping various sources of information up to date.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on Field Telecoms and PCD-I topics.
  • Be supervised to ensure progress of skills and knowledge and delivery of results, informing your team leader and management about outcomes.

Requirements

  • Previous experience of Field Telecoms and industrial automation and control systems.
  • Experience of safely working with legacy telecommunications and network equipment.
  • Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision in an operational offshore production environment.
  • Experience of working effectively with integrated service providers to reach successful outcomes.
  • Strong Windows OS experience.
  • Previous cyber-security experience.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Dedicated to ensuring satisfaction.
  • Exposure to working in potentially hazardous environments on offshore operational or exploration Oil or Gas installations with valid offshore working and medical certificates.
  • Competent Telecommunications Person (CTP) certification.
  • Permit to work processes and systems.
  • COMPEX Hazardous Area Training certification.
