Position Overview

Are you dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with hearing challenges? Join our innovative Audiology team as an Audiology Technical Officer (ATO). In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of hearing devices, delivering immediate assistance to patients, and ensuring the efficient operation of our audiology services. Collaborating closely with audiologists and healthcare professionals, you will help guarantee that patients receive optimal care, whether in a clinical setting or through our postal service.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to cultivate practical technical skills, including programming digital hearing aids, customizing ear moulds, and performing otoscopy, all while making a significant difference in the lives of those with hearing impairments. You will engage with a diverse array of individuals, including those with physical or cognitive disabilities, dementia, or serious health conditions, making your work both demanding and profoundly fulfilling.

Main Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine assessments on the functionality of hearing aids.
  • Execute basic programming of replacement digital hearing aids per audiologist specifications.
  • Modify the shape of patients' ear moulds using appropriate tools.
  • Fit new ear moulds as necessary.
  • Assist in the repair of In-the-ear hearing aids and bone-anchored hearing aids.
  • Manage the postal service for hearing aid maintenance and battery distribution.
  • Handle the sending, receiving, and storage of ear mould impressions and ear moulds.
  • Support the preparation of audiologist clinic schedules.
  • Travel to external clinic locations as required.
