Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Neuropsychologist to join our team at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. This exciting opportunity will involve leading psychological interventions in our neuropsychology pathways, working across a range of conditions including ABI and neurodegenerative disease.

Main Responsibilities
  • Providing neuropsychological assessments and interventions for individuals with acquired and neurodegenerative brain injury, including FND, and their families.
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary teams, providing case discussion and care planning with an emphasis on sharing biopsychosocial formulations and evidence-based interventions.
  • Contributing to audit, research, and service development.
  • Providing formal and ad-hoc supervision to other staff, including trainees, as well as teaching and learning opportunities.
  • Providing clinical expertise and leadership in the psychological and cognitive needs of individuals following a stroke and ABI and their families.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical/Counselling Neuropsychologist with a strong background in neuropsychology and experience in leading psychological interventions. The ideal candidate will have a BSc/BA Honours degree in Psychology and a post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology. They will also have experience in working with individuals with acquired and neurodegenerative brain injury, including FND, and their families.

The successful candidate will be eligible for registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist by the British Psychological Society and will have experience in conducting clinically relevant research. They will also have experience in teaching and training psychologists in a Clinical/Counselling Psychology doctorate training course.
