About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Developer to join our agile product team at John Lewis & Partners. As a key member of our Engineering practice, you will be responsible for building and supporting new features using your expertise in modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and accessible frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.
  • Lead the shaping of new projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a structured approach to systems analysis and development, ensuring adherence to Microservice Architectures and Agile development methods.
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve skills and knowledge, and support the professional development of less experienced engineers.
  • Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and continuous integration/continuous delivery processes.

Requirements:

  • Expertise in modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience leading and influencing engineering decisions in a complex environment.
  • A good understanding of Microservice Architectures and Agile development methods.
  • Experience with modern application frameworks such as React.
  • Experience with building fully accessible and highly performant applications.
  • Extensive experience in TDD, pair programming, and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab CI, or Github Actions.
