Job Title: Senior Play Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Play Specialist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As a Senior Play Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic play and leisure activities to children and their families, while also contributing to the development and implementation of play services across the hospital.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in play therapy and experience working with children and families in a hospital setting. You will be responsible for providing a safe and welcoming environment for children and their families, while also implementing specialized play and therapeutic interventions as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic play and leisure activities to children and their families
  • Develop and implement play services across the hospital
  • Contribute to the development of play policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for children and families
  • Provide training and education to staff on play therapy and play services
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance play services
Requirements
  • Foundation degree in healthcare play specialism
  • NNEB/BTEC in childcare, learning and education
  • Registered with SOHPS
  • At least 2 years working in a hospital/hospice environment within a play team
  • Safeguarding training
