About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Culinary Specialist to join our team at Anchor. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious and delicious meals for our residents, working closely with our care home manager and dietitian to ensure menu planning meets the needs of our residents.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared in a hygienic and safe manner, adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies, to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Assist in the development of special dietary menus for residents with specific health needs, working closely with our care team to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Engage with residents to understand their food preferences and feedback, using this information to improve our culinary services.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Cater craft or similar award.
  • Health & safety legislation including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
  • Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a care home or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and patient, with a genuine interest in working with elderly residents.
