Claims Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Director to join our team. As a Claims Director, you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of service to members in relation to claims handling.
Key Responsibilities:- Handling a variety of P&I claims, including complex and high-value matters, for owners and charterers in accordance with the Club's policies and procedures.
- Reviewing contracts to advise members on risk exposures and discussing additional insurances they may require.
- Mentoring, supervising, and managing colleagues working within the O&R Claims team.
- Collaborating with colleagues in Underwriting functions and Loss Prevention to identify risk trends and manage relationships.
- Preparing agendas, reports, and informing the Sector of significant developments.
- Assisting with audits and peer reviews to develop and improve claims handling and operational processes.
- Supporting business development activities and networking with Members and customers.
- Maintaining a detailed understanding of company-wide rules, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Significant experience in P&I claims handling and management, including complex and high-value claims.
- Strong technical legal skills with experience reviewing and analysing contracts.
- Good knowledge of marine insurance, particularly P&I cover.
- Evidence of owning Member and/or customer relationships and high performance in relationship management.
- Excellent file administration and report writing skills.
