You will engage with senior management to develop, construct, and implement category plans that align with Tesco's primary objectives. Demonstrating the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and negotiate effectively with suppliers is crucial for success in this position.
Your Responsibilities
Achieving significant savings targets through the execution of comprehensive sourcing initiatives, ensuring suppliers fulfill all operational requirements while delivering optimal value for Tesco. Fostering positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues to support, endorse, and execute plans that align with category procurement strategies, driving business savings and innovation. Creating and implementing procurement strategies that genuinely support Tesco's business goals. Drafting and executing the procurement category plan for Distribution Automation. Establishing robust contracts across the category. Regularly monitoring and reporting on savings targets for designated sub-categories following the established processes. Leading supplier evaluations, serving as the primary contact for contract-related inquiries. Identifying opportunities to leverage scale and collaborating with Tesco International teams and subsidiary businesses. Evaluating existing and potential new suppliers to assess their sustainability in supplying Tesco, minimizing risks, and optimizing service. Utilizing sound judgment to cultivate new and enhance existing supplier relationships, ensuring ongoing suitability and generating greater value across the organization.Qualifications
Expertise in procurement with a background in managing GSNFR categories preferred. Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to guide and mentor a team of two Procurement Managers. Experience in talent development to enhance our capabilities with innovative and ambitious opportunities. Proficient in procurement management, contract management, and negotiation skills, with experience managing large multi-million pound sourcing initiatives. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to influence and challenge conventional practices, bringing new concepts and ideas to fruition while gaining buy-in from senior colleagues. Aptitude for managing multiple projects concurrently, driving innovation within the category.
