Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Research Technician to provide experimental and technical assistance for a project supported by a prominent research council, focusing on the role of dendritic cells in regulating tumor growth within brain metastases. This initiative will combine insights from molecular profiling, functional ex vivo assays, and in vivo investigations in preclinical models, culminating in the validation of results using human brain metastases samples.

The ideal candidate will possess substantial relevant experience with in vivo models and laboratory practices, complemented by strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities. You will collaborate closely with a postdoctoral research associate engaged in the same project. In addition to conducting experimental tasks, you will oversee the management of laboratory inventories and essential supplies.

Funding for this position is secured for a duration of up to 30 months.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • Home office personal license for working with rodents (or equivalent certification if outside the UK)
  • Proficiency in executing laboratory experiments and utilizing in vivo models
  • Familiarity with pertinent safety regulations and procedures, such as COSHH and risk assessment
  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours to meet project demands
  • Desirable theoretical knowledge in immunology and/or cancer biology
