About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Apprenticeship - Underwriter. As an Apprentice Underwriter, you will play a key role in supporting our Underwriters and Senior Underwriters in underwriting Property Insurance and Reinsurance business for large and/or complex industrial accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing underwriting skills and technical knowledge while helping to manage existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
- Contribute to risk assessment and analysis, coverage evaluation, pricing, and contract negotiations, as well as account administration.
- Support the development of underwriting skills and technical knowledge through training and mentorship.
- Collaborate with the reporting function to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies in the UK to ensure compliance with the Insurance Distribution Directive.
Requirements
- Experience within the insurance industry from an Underwriting Assistant or Assistant Underwriter position.
- Ability to make decisions based on logic, risk, and commercial aspects.
- Professional qualifications or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification or apprenticeship.
