Nightshift Telephonist

NHS Scotland is seeking a skilled Telephonist to join our team at Raigmore Hospital. As a Telephonist, you will be responsible for providing first-line communication to colleagues and the general public, handling a high volume of calls with a helpful and polite manner.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external callers
- Manage a high volume of calls, ensuring prompt and efficient service
- Follow established procedures for emergencies, alarm activation, and out-of-hours on-call staff
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve service standards
- Develop strong communication skills to effectively interact with callers
- Previous telecoms experience is beneficial, but all training will be provided
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts
The successful candidate will work 18.6 hours per week, with a rotating shift pattern of Monday and Tuesday (23:30-07:00) and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (23:30-07:00).

NHS Scotland is committed to reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. The successful candidate will be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which they will be paid.
