Job Title: Mobile Electrical Technician

Location: Yeovil

Salary: GBP38,376.94 per annum (Potential for additional hours of overtime)

Overtime Rates: Weekdays - GBP24.85 P/H; Weekends - GBP33.14 P/H

Benefits: Company vehicle, pension scheme, private health insurance, 33 days of annual leave (including public holidays)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

On-Call Requirement: 1 week in every 4

This position is for a Qualified Electrical Technician on behalf of our client, a leading facilities management company.

Role Overview:

This is a vital role responsible for executing both scheduled and reactive electrical maintenance across various locations.

The primary objective of this position is to perform technical repairs and minor planned maintenance tasks. You will ensure that all technical documentation and compliance records are consistently maintained and updated. All tasks must be executed to the highest standards, efficiently, and in compliance with the company's health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within set deadlines and ensure all required documentation is completed.
  • Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing job requirements and performing necessary repairs.
  • Conduct tests and repairs on emergency lighting systems.
  • Identify irreparable faults in equipment and promptly inform the line manager of findings.
  • Ensure compliance documentation is consistently updated.
  • Communicate any repair and maintenance issues to the on-site management that may impact operations.
  • Conduct surveys and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Adhere to the company's health and safety policies at all times.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota (1 week in every 4).

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Experience with 3 Phase Electrics and its applications.
  • Ability to achieve PPM schedules within agreed timelines.
  • Capability to respond to service calls within designated timeframes.
  • A valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle are essential.
