Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proficient radiographer to become a vital member of our Neuroradiology team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to engage in MRI within a specialized healthcare environment. We prioritize a patient-focused approach and expect the ideal candidate to possess strong communication skills. Collaboration is key, as you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes undergraduates, trainee radiologists, surgeons, and junior radiographers, making effective teaching abilities essential.

Our department is equipped with advanced technology, offering interventional procedures, 3T MRI, CT, angiography, and standard radiography. We are currently upgrading our equipment and have recently integrated a dual-energy CT scanner, three MRI machines, and two angiography suites featuring state-of-the-art technology. An innovative intraoperative MRI suite is also in the process of being established.

We provide a comprehensive MRI training program designed to enhance the skills of radiographers eager to advance their expertise. Continuous professional development is supported, ensuring all staff members receive the necessary guidance in this area.

Participation in extended working hours, weekend shifts, and out-of-hours services is a fundamental requirement.

Key Responsibilities

The Neuroradiology Department serves Neurology and Neurosurgery. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player who prioritizes image quality, patient safety, and care. A flexible working approach is essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with other modalities to optimize room utilization and prioritize patient care to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensuring accurate data entry on PACS and EHRS to maintain data integrity for patients and the service.
  • Upholding the safety of patients, staff, and visitors within the Neuroradiology Department.
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care and participating in quality monitoring.
  • Engaging in departmental and divisional initiatives such as Health and Safety, Audit, Research, Clinical Governance, and addressing adverse incidents and complaints.
