Additional Learning Support Advisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Advisor to join our Additional Learning Support team at West Herts College. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with diverse learning needs, enabling them to access and succeed in their educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with learning difficulties or disabilities in a classroom setting, working collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Conduct assessments and gather information for annual review meetings, utilizing knowledge of EHCP procedures and protocols.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided.
- Collaborate with curriculum-based colleagues to create and implement individualized support strategies, ensuring students receive the necessary support to achieve their academic goals.
- Provide out-of-class support sessions as needed, adapting to the diverse needs of students.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with students with learning difficulties and disabilities, preferably in an FE setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of students and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of EHCP procedures and protocols, with the ability to gather information for annual review meetings.
- Education to at least Level 3, with a strong understanding of the specific educational needs of students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
