As the Operations Financial Specialist, you will serve as the primary Financial Accountant for the Operations team at our Ledbury site. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing operational performance and efficiency by providing precise and timely financial analysis, including variances, overhead expenditures, and capital investments to the Operations teams. Key Responsibilities:

The Operations Financial Specialist will lead in the following areas:

  • Operational Reporting & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Inventory Management - Ensuring robust inventory controls are maintained, including financial oversight on stocktake adjustments and reconciliation reviews
  • Collaborating with the Continuous Improvement Lead to track project savings and validate outcomes
  • Reviewing Manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) in partnership with Sales and Operations teams
  • Managing Fixed Assets, Capital Expenditure, and Maintenance costs
  • Conducting Forecasting & Budgeting activities
  • Building strong relationships with Commercial teams to assess the impact of commercial strategies on Operations
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in delivering accurate Budgets & Forecasts for Operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to deadlines
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with Month-End reviews, projects, and additional requirements
  • Executing Month-End duties in accordance with the established timetable managed by the Finance Manager

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ACA (part qualified nearing completion of studies may be considered based on practical experience)
  • Previous experience in a Financial Operations role within a Manufacturing setting
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing and Costing processes, including Standard costing
  • Proficient knowledge of product costing techniques and Bill of Material management
  • Ability to analyze and interpret variances, driving business improvements
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel (including financial modeling)
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a solid understanding of systems, processes, and workflows, complemented by business acumen
