Job Description

Agricultural Equipment Technician required by Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD. Our client is a well-established family business with a long history in the agricultural industry, seeking an experienced Agricultural Engineer to join their team at the Reading depot.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in machinery maintenance, ideally in the agricultural, commercial vehicle, or construction industry, and be able to work independently or as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Service and maintain machinery from leading franchises, including CLAAS and Horsch, to the manufacturer's specifications, ensuring machine reliability and safety.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, reporting defects and identifying opportunities to upsell services.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and other faults, completing repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Operate diagnostic software via a laptop computer, with training provided as needed.
  • Document work completed, including photographs and worked hours, for accurate record-keeping.
  • Perform other duties as required to fulfill the role.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge and experience of various machinery, preferably in the agricultural, commercial vehicle, or construction industry.
  • Relevant qualification in Land-Based Engineering or a related field.
  • Full driving license and ability to operate machinery on site for testing purposes.
  • Flexibility to work weekends during peak harvest season.

Remuneration:
  • Salary: £25,000 - £45,000 per annum, OTE based on experience, paid hourly.
  • Working hours: Monday - Thursday, 8am - 4.30pm, Friday, 8am - 3.30pm, with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break.
  • Holiday package: 24 days + 8BH.
  • Pension: 3% employee contribution and 7% employer contribution.
  • Life assurance, including dependent's pension.
  • Overtime available (Mon - Sat time and a half, Sunday - double time, bank holiday Monday - double time & day in lieu).
  • Company van.
  • Ongoing training as required.
