About the Role

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team as the Head of Procurement and Supplier Management in the Property category. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing end-to-end category strategies that drive value for money and challenge existing practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver specific category plans and commercial strategies that ensure fit-for-purpose and sustainable sourcing and supply chains across the Sainsbury's Group.
  • Lead complex commercial activities, participate in cross-functional teams, and negotiate and manage contracts with key suppliers.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a business partner and providing valuable insights and perspectives to support challenging commercial strategies.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals, coaching and motivating them to achieve their objectives and contribute to the advancement of the Procurement and Supplier Management function.
Requirements

We are looking for an accomplished procurement professional with extensive experience in developing and executing commercial strategies within the Property, Construction, or Facilities Management sectors. You will possess a deep understanding of external supply markets and emerging trends, as well as excellent stakeholder management skills to build strong relationships with senior management.

You will excel in motivating and guiding cross-functional teams, leveraging your expertise in contract law, negotiation, and third-party relationship management to ensure successful execution of complex sourcing projects. Your critical thinking abilities and ability to prioritise conflicting programmes will play a key role in shaping the procurement function and driving its advancement within the organisation.
