The Operations and Business Transformation Analyst will play a pivotal role within the Operations team, offering analytical insights, managing defects and changes, and facilitating the implementation of insurance underwriting and policy administration systems. Additionally, this position will encompass some administrative support related to risk and compliance.

In collaboration with the business and various stakeholders, you will assess Defect and Minor Change requirements, revise specifications, document testing criteria, prepare Change Requests, and obtain quotes from different system providers. You will present changes at the Change Advisory Board, oversee the delivery of changes in partnership with system providers, and conduct testing prior to releasing updates for final testing and approval.

Occasionally, the Operations and Business Transformation Analyst will assist with significant change initiatives and other risk, compliance, and operational tasks as necessary.

Strong organizational skills are essential, along with a proactive attitude and the ability to meet tight deadlines while working within established frameworks. The ideal candidate will be positive, innovative, and collaborative, dedicated to delivering exceptional service to the business while utilizing both analytical and creative skills to address the organization’s change needs.

You will be expected to operate independently in your daily responsibilities, working with a degree of autonomy within the defined Change Management Framework. Engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business representatives, senior leadership, internal support teams, finance, and suppliers, will be crucial for the successful delivery of change.

You will become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in insurance underwriting and policy administration systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and log Defect Reports and Change Requests in accordance with established processes.
  • Evaluate Change Requests and determine the appropriate approval pathway.
  • Document Change requirements, conduct impact analysis, and outline testing criteria.
  • Schedule and facilitate presentations at the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Oversee implementation, facilitate business testing, and manage defect resolution.
  • Track and manage post-implementation reviews and associated actions.
  • Maintain a technical debt register and Change Request backlog, reporting to CAB.
  • Communicate and report issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst is essential.
  • Proficiency in IT Change Management.
  • Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services sector.
  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or other workflow and reporting management tools.
  • Previous experience in risk and/or compliance.
  • Understanding of Change Management processes.
  • Experience within the Insurance or Financial Services industry.
