The Charity Shop Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the RSPCA Preston & District branch charity shop, ensuring compliance with branch and society policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales and profit targets, managing a team of staff and volunteers, and promoting the work of the RSPCA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Ensure the smooth daily operation of the shop, including managing stock, merchandising, and financial procedures.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff and volunteers, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Sales and Profit Targets: Meet agreed sales targets and ensure direct costs are kept to a minimum.
- Gift Aid and Fundraising: Maximise gift aid income from donated goods and promote fundraising initiatives.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with branch health and safety policies, including fire safety, risk assessments, and security procedures.
- Customer Service: Provide high levels of customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
- Marketing and Promotion: Promote the shop and the RSPCA in the local area, using all available promotional opportunities.
- Financial Management: Manage the shop's finances, including cash handling, daily banking, and security procedures.
- Administration: Complete all relevant administration tasks, including annual appraisals and staff reviews.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in retail management, preferably in a charity shop environment.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Education: Relevant qualifications in retail management or a related field.
Working Hours: 21 hours per week, including weekend availability.
Salary: £12.34 per hour.
