Solar Operations and Maintenance Specialist

Job Purpose:

As a Solar & Battery Storage Technician at SearchTech, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of utility-scale battery storage plants and ground-mounted solar PV plants. This is a field-based role where you will ensure the plants operate safely, efficiently, and within budget. This permanent position requires participation in weekend on-call duties as part of a rota, with overtime opportunities available to support the growth of our renewable energy portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on solar PV and battery storage systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct site inspections and monitoring to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation and knowledge base.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in solar PV and/or battery storage maintenance and operations.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote sites.
