Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support secondary schools in Lincoln. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with special educational needs overcome challenges and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN, including those with SEMH, ADHD, and other additional needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to modify and deliver lessons tailored to meet the diverse learning requirements of students.
  • Assist students with subject-specific tasks, reinforcing key concepts in core subjects to support their academic development.
  • Assist students in developing key academic and life skills, enhancing their confidence and independence.
  • Work closely with SENCOs and teaching staff to track student progress and contribute to their learning strategies.
  • Implement effective behaviour management techniques to create a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
  • Ensure seamless learning experiences by providing support during classroom activities when teachers are unavailable.
Requirements:
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not mandatory).
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a relevant field is desirable.
  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a Secondary setting is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a compassionate and patient approach.
  • The ability to adapt to the unique needs of students and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
