Placement Support Officer (Children) - Halton

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Placement Support Officer to join our team in Halton. As a key member of our children's services team, you will play a vital role in sourcing, monitoring, and quality assuring placements for children and young people in the care of Halton Borough Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and provide information to assist the Council in managing the market for services for children, young people, and families to optimum effect.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners, including Social Workers, providers of foster care, residential care organisations, and colleagues across children's services, adult services, education, and health.
  • Plan and undertake placement monitoring and quality assurance to ensure high-quality placements are commissioned that offer value for money and improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Assist in the management of the Children's Contract Commissioning to secure high-quality, cost-effective, and customer-care-focused external care contracts and service level agreements.
  • Deal with emergency placement sourcing, which must be arranged at short notice in pressurized situations, as well as longer-term planning of placements.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a pressurized environment. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
