About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Director to join our team at Forvis Mazars UK. As an Audit Director, you will play a key role in developing and building our audit team and client offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the client service management team in formulating audit strategy and planning.
  • Provide technical expertise for audit assignments, advising the audit team and client.
  • Lead an audit team, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Manage audit assignments from planning to finalization of reports.
  • Control time spent and monitor actual time within budget.
  • People management, including coaching, feedback, performance management, training, and development.
  • Maintain control and stability under pressure, recognizing deadlines and urgency.
  • Ensure standards and procedures are maintained by the team.
  • Draft the audit opinion summary for the Partner and other reporting documents.
  • Ensure clients are billed according to agreed billing plans.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for new work.
  • Business development, working with colleagues in other teams.
  • Act as a point of contact for senior management and clients.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients.
  • Show vision and strategic perspective.
  • Deliver confident and clear presentations of service features and benefits to clients.
  • Ensure audit services are genuinely appropriate for the client.
  • Assess and produce high-quality work, meeting relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • ACA / CA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
  • Significant experience leading external audits, managing a portfolio of clients, and leading audit teams.
  • Prior experience working at an experienced Audit Senior Manager level.
  • Client relationship management experience.
  • Relevant privately owned business sector audit experience.
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102 and IFRS.
  • Experience managing, training, and coaching an audit team.
  • Experience using audit software and Microsoft packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge.
  • Experience developing new initiatives and methodologies.
  • Experience identifying issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen.
  • Takes ownership of projects, delegates effectively, and takes responsibility for quality control.
  • Develops a network of client contacts and contacts in the wider market.
