Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the Food Services Manager to provide a high-quality catering service to patients at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
  • Reheat nutritious and appetizing meals to the highest possible standards, ensuring temperature, quality, and presentation meet our high standards.
  • Assist with electronic patient meal ordering and ensure high standards of food service, reheating, and quality control throughout.
  • Monitor and record temperature of all reheated food in accordance with Catering Department Policies and Procedures and HACCP.
  • Assist with receipt, quality assurance, and stock control of goods received from the Central Production Unit, adhering to stock rotation practices and kitchen HACCP.
  • Participate in Hygiene Audits and Cleaning Schedules inspections for your area of work, liaising with the Food Service Supervisors to ensure any remedial work is completed.
  • Assist in the general cleaning of crockery and kitchen utensils using the dishwashing machine and by hand when required.
