Our project division is dedicated to delivering superior design and installation services, particularly within the public sector, including healthcare, energy, and communications.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Services Manager to oversee a new contract. This role involves managing the efficient and effective delivery of mechanical service installations, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and maintaining responsibility for all personnel involved in the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships to enhance local service offerings.
  • Oversee daily project execution, ensuring alignment with client specifications, safety protocols, quality standards, and supplier performance.
  • Conduct commercial management and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality across all operations, supported by strategic planning and supplier engagement.
  • Lead and manage Mechanical and Electrical field supervisors assigned to the project.
  • Investigate incidents, quality failures, and service issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams to identify potential risks to budget and project delivery.
  • Maintain operational relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to performance standards and contractual KPIs.
  • Conduct regular audits of staff performance and service quality to uphold high standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate progress reports to senior management, highlighting project status, challenges, and solutions.
  • Adhere to safety and performance standards consistently.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to a high standard.
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the department by following company policies and standards.
  • Work responsibly within the company's values and operational guidelines to ensure safety for all stakeholders.

Qualifications:
To excel in this position, the Mechanical Services Manager should possess:
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate tasks to supervisory teams and field engineers.
  • Proven planning, organizational, and monitoring skills.
  • Experience in delivering healthcare projects from a mechanical perspective.
  • Recognized qualification in Building Services Engineering (ONC/HNC preferred).
  • Extensive experience in program management.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems relevant to project installations.
  • Competency in Mathematics and English (equivalent to E level B+).
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • A strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in work approach.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check due to client site requirements.
  • A valid UK Driving License held for a minimum of 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Preferred Certifications:
  • Building Services qualification (HNC preferred).
  • SMSTS certification.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
